Thank You Jaron!

Dear Jaron:

I love my crown so much! It's my favorite colors blue and silver. I wear it to school every day. Thank you so much!

Love,

Zoey

Would You Rather Wednesday

Last week was a complete landslide--only Sina gave Obama a pity vote. I apologize--my intent with this game was to give a difficult choice...I thought people thought Obama was handsome and now I've learned my lesson. :)

Tonight I attended So You Think You Can Dance @ the E-center....so that leads me to this week's choices.....reality TV Russian dancing hunks!

Would you rather......SYTYCD's Dimitri......

or DWTS's Maksim?

Black Saturday

On Saturday I received not one, but two pieces of devastating news.....no I am not talking about the stock market. Even though that news is sad, what I have to share is MUCH worse....

So here's bad news bears #1: M@ informed me that my beloved Xanadu is closing doors in October!!!!! You may remember that I went to Xanadu last September. Here's a pic of me and Amanda on our way into my favorite broadway experience to date. I got to sit on the stage and well, it was just the most unbelievable experience!!

And to make matters just absolutely the worst, I am going to NYC this November and we purchased tickets back in July!!!! Can you believe that?

I don't want a refund!!! I want to see this up close and personal again!
Not to mention the roller skating......(sigh) so sad!!!

On to bit of bad news #2: You also may know that since June of 2007, I have been completely obsessed w/Snifters. They are these little green minty/chocolately candies produced in New Zealand. Emma introduced me to them when we were in Australia, and since then I've been having her import them whenever we get together. In fact, she brought me 22 bags to Convention one year! :)

So on Saturday, I got an email from Emma that Cadbury has halted production of these most delicious candies! How can this be???? But maybe all hope is not lost: Save the Snifter!!! Please visit that link and vote for saving the Snifter. If you haven't tried them, I will do all I can to get you some if they are indeed saved.

And that is what I call a sad & oh so very black Saturday! :(

Salad is gross. The only reason to have it really is because people frown upon eating ranch w/ a spoon like soup.

Would You Rather Wednesday

I'm starting a new series on my blog....Would You Rather Wednesday!!! Visiting Virginia

A little update on my fabulous trip back east. I went to my former homeland for about 5 days to visit my people and see some "old friends." So here's a little recap....
I arrived Friday night and Saturday morning, we did brunch at my favorite restaurant: Rio Grande!!! L to R: me, Lacey, Darci, Rachel, Christy & Anais. It was once again the most delicious meal of my life!!!

Then Christy and I went to see Vicky Christina Barcelona and I am going to review it on Movie Mavens so go there if you want to know more about it. Saturday night, Matt took me & Christy on the most amazing, fabulous, midnight tour of the city...... Me & Matt right at the beginning of the tour...he took us on this tour even after a full-days work. So kind and generous....
Our fabulous Capital--isn't it beautiful??
Me & Chris in front.....

One of my favorites of the evening!

Matt took this pic....it might fit into his "art, people" category. Even though it looks like it's taken from the 2nd story--it wasn't. Perplexing, isn't it?

And one more "art" photo by Matt...

It was a fabulous weekend, including a delicious dinner after the tour at the ever-so-famous Georgetown Cafe, and also a fun dinner party @ Darci's Sunday night....but lame-o me didn't take any other photos....the next time I got my camera out was Monday evening at Wolftrap....
Yes indeed...it was time for another concert!!! Me, Jill & Caro went to see our boys perform once again. This time we were joined by Amber, Julianna, Sarah & Jill J. Jill and Amber both have awesome postings so click their names for more fabulous pics!! We started off w/a little picknicking.
Sadly, there are only 4 of them now. Kevin has retired and really it just wasn't the same for me. However, one amazing discovery I made--something that I'd never noticed before--was that the other 4 are actually very entertaining!! haha
4 Angels.....one of the best parts of the concert was when they did the "I'll Never Break Your Heart" lounge singer act. I never thought I'd get to see that again live--so it was a special treat!!

Always one of the saddest moments for me...

Me & Caro at the end of the concert and the beginning of what I've always called the BSH (Backstreet hangover). That aside, it was so much fun!! We had amazing seats and had the greatest time reminiscing.

Then we found ourselves in the biggest traffic jam of all time....and before I knew it, Julianna & I were standing in front of one of the buses having a little chat w/Brian & Howie. Jill snapped this next pic with my camera--but sadly I had turned off the flash during the concert....so it ended up a bit "art-ish" also... Bye bye AJ!

Tuesday, Christy & I went to visit Amy and her darling kids in Stafford. We had such a nice time visiting and lunching.

It was such a great trip--just catching up w/everyone and seeing my beloved city. I miss it all so much!!! Really I can't imagine how less colorful my life would be w/out my DC chapter. I'm so lucky!!

September 1st

As the last few hours of August slipped away, I got a little emotional b/c of the amazing rain storm that we had tonight (are still having)! September 1 has been one of my most favorite days of the year for at least a decade now. And to have it ushered in by 60s and rain is really more than I could ever ask for. My A/C is off & windows are open....I have a feeling it is going to be a completely amazing autumn!!

HAPPY SEPTEMBER 1ST!!!

(p.s. and happy birthday Elton!)
